Records show that 915,000 souvenir sheets were cut up into a horizontal pair of 6c + 4c and an 18c single and sold for postage use starting August 31, 1960. FDC's show only a circular date stamp for the cut stamps plus a special cancel with "FOR PHILATELY ONLY" within a circle at the back of the cover. Out of the 915,000 18c imperforate single, 635,001 remained unsold and were burned in 1974. Another 100,000 souvenir sheets were overprinted in 1963, although records show that originally, there were only 1,000,000 souvenir sheets printed!
